The Rock cycle is familiar territory to those that studied the Water cycle.
Like the Water on Earth, the rocks beneath our feet were here long before us and have been undergoing change since their creation.
Those same rocks are also made from materials that are constantly reshaped and reused over and over and over again. We will never gain MORE rocks, nor will we ever lose any. They cycle.
Vocabulary: Transmitted, blood-borne, infection, bacteria, virus/viral
The language around the illnesses caused by intimate / sexual contact has changed from "disease" to "infection".
Students should understand that safe sex - using certain methods of Contraception - can prevent them getting any of the infections in the powerpoint.

The "contra" in Contraception means "against".
The remainder of the word - "ception" is from conception, which means to bring something into existence - a baby, in this case.
So contraception is to work against or prevent pregnancy and / or prevent Sexually Transmitted Infections or "STI's".
In this lesson, students should come away with knowledge of equipment and behaviours to stay safe from unplanned pregnancy.
